Why Fjord & Folio?

From lived experience.

I lived in Norway for three years in some very formative years of my early adult life, and my love for the country has stayed with me. I remember its landscapes, but I remember the people just as clearly: the good people who welcomed me, the friendships, and the culture I came to know through ordinary days there. I learned to speak Norwegian, studied at the University of Oslo, fell madly in love with Bergen, Alesund, and western Norway, studied Ibsen at the University of Oslo. Obsessed is probably too strong a word but probably one that my family and friends use when they think of me and my love of Norway and the Nordic region.

Norway is the heart of Fjord & Folio, with room for the stories, traditions, food, and everyday finds of the wider Nordic world. This is where I share books we make, things I think are worth discovering, and a personal perspective on a region I love.
